Studio Sessions
In our studio sessions you can expect to be taught the drums face to face by a professional teacher who is passionate about teaching the drums! Lessons are held at our dedicated teaching studio in Woking, Surrey.
What will you learn?
Technique
Hand techniques including German, French and Moeller. Foot techniques including the slide technique and heel down. We emphasise the importance of maintaining good posture.
Musical Application
How to use and develop your knowledge, skill and artistic sensitivity during musical performance. Understanding different grooves and stickings that make each genre unique, i.e. Jazz, Rock and Latin.
Independence and Coordination
Playing separate rhythms with each of our different limbs and using these patterns in a fluid way. Developing our Independence and Coordination allowing us more freedom behind the drum kit.
Reading
Reading and speaking out drum notation in real time. Transcribing what we hear aurally, and notating it down using either pen and paper or software.
Prices
Our lessons take place weekly. Lesson fees are due once every two months and include all school holidays other than Christmas where lessons will stop for two weeks.
